In just over a year since the first case of swine flu was taken in account, there are over 1500 deaths reported in India.
With aim of reducing dependency on importing swine flu vaccine, India was developing indigenous swine flu vaccine and had launched its first indigenous swine flu vaccine on 3 June, 2010; to fight H1N1 virus. This homemade swine flu vaccine was commenced by Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Zydus Cadila is the manufacturing company of the first indigenously developed H1N1 virus fighter- the Vaxiflu-S. Vaxiflu-S is priced at Rs 350.
Within the month of the launch of Vaxiflu-S vaccine by Zydus Cadila, Pune based Serum Institute of India (SII) launched Nasovac a intra-nasal spray vaccine.
But both the vaccines have their side effects and should only be taken under medical supervision.
