BJP is of the view that India will not be benefitted at all if FDI in multi brand retail is allowed.
The issues related to the speculation of FDI are long under debate and controversy. On Monday, BJP declared that it is completely against the proposal of the stand on FDI in the retail industry. At the same time, it also declared that the policy will be directly scrapped by it if the NDA is successful in coming to power. However, there was a report that Sukhbir Badal, the deputy chief minister of Punjab and the president of Shiromani Akali Dal has softened on the issue of FDI in the multi brand retail sector. Irrespective of the report, BJP opposed to it claiming that it is completely against the interest of the farming community in India.
BJP acknowledge that it is completely against this issue and the party will always stand against it. The same point was elaborated by the party president when he addressed at Surajkund at the national Executive’s Meet of the BJP. The chief spokesperson of BJP also claimed that also declared that the NDA will be completely against the policy even if the government of UPA is successful in implementing it. He claimed that once the party is in power the consequences will follow which is strictly against FDI on multi brand retail.
When asked the question of the agenda of good governance released by the party, Shankar Prasad, the spokesperson claimed that it is absolutely a matter to be handled by them. He also strictly addressed that the country is supposed for the next manifesto of BJP if the party comes to power. On the other hand, the government has also stated clearly that there will be absolutely no rollback of the FDI proposal irrespective of the fact that TMC has withdrawn support from the UPA.
